In the summer of 2020, when many businesses were shut down and COVID vaccines were not yet available, I spent much more time outdoors in Columbus’s Metro Parks. A visit to Highbanks Metro Park brought to my attention the existence of Ohio’s ancient burial mounds and earthworks, many of which were built between 1000 and 2000 years ago. It is now my hobby to visit as many of these as I can, and the map on this page records the location of each one I’ve visited.
